Let me start with a disclaimer - Sometimes excuses are ok. They are appropriate responses to a given situation. Neither I, nor this post, will belittle you for using excuses in your life. We don’t do that here. I’m not that kind of coach.
If you’ve known me for any amount of time, you may have heard me say “Explanations are reasons, not excuses.” Meaning, it’s ok to have a backstory for your roadblock. What isn’t ok is cutting yourself short.
You very much deserve to rest in your moments of limitation
Take a breath, reassess your plans. What are you capable of controlling? Is your goal still worth it to you?
It’s a popular subject in the coaching world to beat ourselves up over excuses. But what if accepting them, excusing them, helps us to rebuild our plans? What if admitting their existence means we will be stronger when we’re ready to try again?
We can take the power out of excuses, and give ourselves grace at the same time.
I’m here to help you with your goals, with or without excuses.
